Rosie Perez's characteristically squeaky voice makes her instantly recognizable. A veteran actor in Hollywood and on Broadway, she was born in Brooklyn, but her parents are Puerto Rican. Her film creidts include Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing, White Men Can't Jump and Fearless. Perez is also a vocal activist for Puerto Rican rights. Her 2006 movie, Yo Soy Boricua! Pa' Que Tú Lo Sepas! (I'm Puerto Rican, Just So You Know!), is all about the island's culture, history, and national pride.
