This place is more than a pet store: it's a place where creatures of all kinds (even the two-footed ones) can find a warm welcome.
- The best place in town for pet-lovers
- Lots of cute souvenirs for your pet
- Terrific pet adoption program with transportation to the U.S.
- If you have a pet, it will be hard to leave this place with a full wallet
- The Pampered Pet is located at 203 San Justo Street and is open Monday-Saturday from 106, Sunday 115. Phone: 787-721-1370.
- Calypso the lab is large, but he is extremely docile, in case you're worried about big dogs.
- The products here are not your everyday accessories, but rather specialized items that you don't find everywhere.
No, it's more the vibe you get when you walk in and talk to the people who manage the shop. Start with the welcoming party, which consists of Calypso, the extremely lazy black lab. Then mobe on to Wilma Valle, who owns the store and has been an animal care pioneer in Puerto rico.
Valle has been on TV and in the media frequently, championing proper pet care and the integration of a pet into a family for more than 18 years. She is someone who loves what she does and does it with tremendous care and love. She is happy to talk to customers about her experience and expertise.
Then there's the inventory. From collars and chew-toys to some sumptuous dog-beds, this store has a fun jumble of goodies for all kinds of pets. And finally, there are the pets themselves. The Pampered Pet has live animals ready for adoption, and if you're looking for a particular breed, theyll do their best to find it. The store takes care of transportation (to the U.S.) and all the necessary details to make sure your new family member reaches you safely.
I realize that shopping for pets is probably not high on your list when you visit Puerto Rico. But if you're looking for a new member of the family, check them out. And if you do have a pet, bring them back a souvenir from The Pampered Pet.
