Saborea 2010: the Flavor of Puerto Rico

By , About.com Guide

Saborea, Puerto Rico's premier culinary festival, celebrated its third year with sellout crowds, a host of celebrity chefs from around the island and around the world, and enough rum to drown a pirate ship. It was a fun-filled weekend, with plenty of food from local restaurants, endless samples of rum (and other drinks), and the Caribbean sun presiding over everything and everyone. Of course, the stars of the show were the chefs, who took center stage at the kitchen demo to wow audiences with their skills.

What is Saborea? The word derives from sabor, which means "taste" in Spanish, and this event is all about island tastes. The festival offers tourists to Puerto Rico a unique opportunity to sample cutting-edge island cuisine (along with no end of other foodie freebies in the main pavilion) and meet and mingle with culinary superstars. In other words, it's a food-lover's dream come true. Here are the highlights.
