Nothing Like a Summer Barbecue

Tuesday June 23, 2009
Summer and barbecue are synonymous terms in the U.S. And, it turns out, Puerto Rico has something to say about this all-American tradition, and it's doing so in a big way this weekend at the Cattlemen's Caribbean BBQ Festival. Just in its second year, this is already the largest barbecue festival in the Caribbean, and it all goes down at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in the Miramar neighborhood of San Juan. This weekend will be a full one, with barbecue competitions taking place in a demo kitchen, wild bull rides, an angus beef Wheel of Fortune, giveaways courtesy of Budweiser, live music and much more. Vegetarians, stay away, but the rest of you who want a weekend full of ribs, steaks and sauce, get your one-day ticket ($15) or two-day ticket ($25) here.
