If you like live music and dance, July is a good month for you to be in Puerto Rico. In addtion to all the regular weekly and monthly activities that are always going on in the island, there are a few special events worth checking out this month, and one of Puerto Rico's biggest musical events of the year:
  • July 11: Get your dance on at the Xtreme Reggaetón Concert, highlightd by V.I.P. Ayala (Daddy Yankee's brother), Jonny L, La Banda Desafinada, El Moya, Daniel y Onix, MID, Alto Barrio, and Dj Blaster.
  • July 12: Paul Van Dyk, a global household name in trance and techno, comes to San Juan for one night.
  • July 19-26: The 12th annual Salsa Congress takes place in the El San Juan Hotel & Casino. This is a chance to watch some of the world's best salseros do their stuff while listening to some of the best salsa bands around.
  • July 26-31: July is a busy month for Fiestas Patronales, or "Patron Saint Festivals." No fewer than 15 towns honor their saints this month, including Culebra, Fajardo, Guanica, and Loiza.
