Far from the Maddening Crowd: The Ponce Hilton
Ponce is a charming city that seems stuck in a different era. It's best hotel, the Ponce Hilton, blends its colonial beauty with a modern resort. The hotel is a world away from the bustle of San Juan, but sacrifices none of the amenities and services of a top-class hotel. Indeed, a weekend in the Ponce Hilton is, for many, a welcome escape at a very reasonable price.
It's not the place to come for nightlife, for non-stop action, and, really, for the best beaches (actually, you can say that about all of Ponce). Those can be found elsewhere on the island. But for a tropical retreat with a guarantee of comfort and hospitability, make your way south, and check into the Hilton.

I have to agree about the beaches not being so attractive in Ponce.
The Ponce Hilton is a comfortable place to stay. My boyfriend and I have built a really good relationship with the staff by visiting the Hilton’s buffet on Saturday evenings while watching the children of Julie Mayoral’s Dance Academy and their intricatte salsa choreogryaphy during Noches Ponceņa.
Playing golf at Costa Caribe Golf and Country Club is also a delight. The first round of golf I ever played was at their 27 hole golf course. My boyfriend and I were hooked by the service, members, and atmosphere. I highly recommend visiting the club house and relaxing by the pool that overlooks the Caribbean Sea.
The clubhouse is a good tip. I’m practically useless with a golf club, so I know I would relish it!
